DAREBIN MUSIC FEAST:
This year’s Darebin Music Feast includes a show with a difference – Girl, Interpreted - a fundraiser for Arts Access, celebrating independent female musicians and equality and access in arts. This night of music will be Auslan Interpreted.
Four acts – Don’t Mess With The Pony, Monique Brumby, Eva Popov and Sal Kimber M.C. Stella Young from Channel 31’s No Limits
Don’t Mess With The Pony – back from their successful maiden overseas tour of Canada, their smooth grooves, jazz influences and sheer love for their craft shine through in every performance. This Northcote-based trio are an absolute delight.
Monique Brumby – one of Australia’s finest singer/songwriters, Monique has two Arias under her belt (Best New Talent 1996 and Best Female Artist 1998) and released her third album Into The Blue independently last year. Monique Brumby is a thought-provoking storyteller with a sound encompassing elements of rock, pop, blues and soul genres that will send shivers down your spine.
Eva Popov – well-known Northcote singer/songwriter, Eva is a past winner of the Darebin Music Feast Songwriters’ Award. With a little bit of folk, a little bit of bluegrass and a touch of western swing, this fine guitarist and songwriter will get your toe tapping and warm your heart.
Sal Kimber – hailing from Country Victoria and now a local Northcotian, festival circuit regular Sal Kimber is sure to put a smile on your dial with her vocal talents and unique blend of country folk.
Arts Access is a very important organisation in our community committed to equal access in arts, providing access to arts and cultural activity for people who are disadvantaged, including people with a disability.
